Hired Attorney 2025Hi! Please do not hire Sean McCumber. This man is a complete fraud and operates his business without morals or ethics. He is biased and will most certainly choose one side over the other when dealing with custody. He is disrespectful, rude and couldn’t care less about what is best for your children. If you fight against him, he will charge you for his legal fees. He is a complete fraud. Beware.
-
Hired Attorney 2023-2024If I could leave a negative review I would he doesn’t even deserve 1 star, terrible gal lawyer. Easily fooled and manipulated, then wants to charge you for defending yourself against false allegations. PLEASE ANY PARENT FIGHTING FOR YOUR KIDS RUUUNNN FAR AWAY FROM SEAN. He will ruin your life and your children lives in the process. This guy need a career change because he obviously don’t know what he is doing. Just plain and simple terrible Gal lawyer. Hope he find a career that better suits him, this guy is a joke.
-
Hired Attorney 2024Terrible and bias GAL. Wouldn’t listen to me at all and only took my ex wife’s word as the Bible against mine.
-
Hired Attorney 2009-2012Sean brought his two year old foster daughter, that you now see on all his fake advertisements on line to gain business, to meet myself and my 5 children at a local Mcdonalds, showing up 45 minutes late with no explanation or apology, and expected my 11 year old daughter to babysit his foster child while interviewing my hungry 4 other children. What is most unbelievable is that Sean thought this was totally acceptable and acted irresponsibly continuously during the custody battle that later ended in reckless decisions on his part due to his wounded sensitivity to the fact that I complained to him that I did not understand why my husband was gay. He took deep offense to my being hurt and turned his own views into the major destruction of granting full custody to a man who he could identify with on a personal level rather than actually doing his job to look at the dynamics of what abuse this man was doing to the 5 children. Sean has no conscience and continues to climb the judge ladder to feed his empty sole.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.
How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
