Kena Hollingsworth is the founding partner of the dynamic family law firm Hollingsworth Law Group and is the creator of the approach: Divorce Done Differently. Kena’s legal practice is 100% dedicated to divorce & family law. She handles all types of family law cases, including divorce and legal separation, child custody and visitation/parenting time, child support, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, paternity, spousal maintenance/alimony, military divorce, and family law appeals, to name a few.

What Makes Her Uniquely Qualified?

Kena is passionate about helping her clients find healthier approaches to the divorce and other family law issues. In addition to 20+ years of experience practicing divorce and family law, Kena is also a divorce and family law mediator, a trained collaborative divorce professional, and a certified relationship coach. As a child of divorce herself, and someone who has gone through the divorce process as an adult, Kena offers a uniquely compassionate perspective, and a level of understanding and empathy that sets her apart in the legal profession. Kena is committed to finding workable solutions for her clients and their families, especially when children are involved; and she strives to promote positive co-parenting relationships and creative solutions which are sustainable for clients, long-term. From her perspective, representing family law clients goes far beyond helping them navigate the legal processes. It is to prepare, inspire and empower clients to move forward after divorce with certainty, confidence and joy.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
