Indianapolis Employment Discrimination, Wrongful Discharge, and Retaliation Law Lawyer

Overview

Bradley Wilson is a partner and litigation attorney at Wilson Melton, LLC, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has fought long and hard for nearly 25 years in and out of court for employees who have experienced unlawful wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace. Bradley founded his law firm, along with Shannon Melton, because of his passion for civil rights and justice on behalf of employees. He has represented nearly 1,000 employees in legal matters with their employers.

Bradley is a member of the bars of Indiana, Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Bradley has predominantly represented former and current employees in all aspects of employment law, including claims for wrongful discharge, unpaid wages, overtime violations, and employment discrimination and retaliation, before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He has also served as lead counsel on behalf of employees in multiple class and collective actions alleging sex discrimination, unpaid wages, and unpaid overtime under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Indiana Wage Statute.

Bradley has a unique perspective in disputes between employees and employers. He practiced for a few years at an Indianapolis law firm where he represented companies in employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies as well as advised management professionals in making personnel decisions and in ensuring that their policies were compliant with federal and state employment laws. In short, Bradley has been on both sides of the aisle and has a perspective on how employers generally think.

Bradley is a magna cum laude graduate of Ball State University and a summa cum laude graduate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

I came to this firm to receive assistance for what I felt was an inappropriate and unfair situation with my employer. I met with Mr. Bradley Wilson, who took the time to meet with me on the phone first to find out more. After speaking with me, I understood my rights, what he felt were the strengths and weaknesses of my case, and what I would need to do to move forward. I did decide to hire Mr. Wilson and the John Haskin & Associate law firm to represent me. Mr. Wilson stayed in contact with me for the time that it took to take my case forward and helped me to understand the process. My case was settled in arbitration, which I am confident is in part due to the work that Mr. Wilson did. I feel that I received great representation and that I would not have had the results in my case had I chosen another avenue.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
