"Valerie is amazing! From our first conversation, she was funny, understanding, and made me feel so much better about my situation. She’s extremely knowledgeable and caught onto the details of my case and who I am as a person right away. I really appreciated her honesty regarding fees and the clear guidance she provided. She is a total powerhouse, and I’m so glad I reached out to her! She is definitely worth it!

I was referred to this law firm from a highly respectable lawyer. I called several times before someone responded back. And then waited for a month just too schedule a consultation to which no one had call me. Finally just for them to tell me let won't help with my case!! This was so unprofessional and disappointing. I wasted precious time with them. But I did find a better firm who took care of my case and got the results I needed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that our communication did not meet your expectations. We strive to respond promptly to every inquiry and understand how frustrating delays can be. We record our phone calls for quality assurance. Our records indicate you called once and spoke with Michelle. Michelle explained your case is not one that our office litigates. We referred you to the Indiana State Bar Association and provided their phone number to you. You thanked Michelle at the end of the call. We’re glad to hear you were able to find representation that was a better fit and that your matter was resolved successfully. We wish you the very best moving forward. Kind regards, Valerie Horvath

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
