Attorney Information

Overview

With over 26 years of experience in the Indiana legal system, I have seen the law from every possible angle—as a prosecutor, a Master Commissioner, and now as your private advocate. My career has been defined by a single mission: providing the aggressive representation my clients deserve while maintaining the transparency and compassion they need.

Experience You Can Trust

I don’t just know the law; I know how the system works from the inside out. My background gives you a unique advantage: As a former Master Commissioner in Marion Superior Court, I presided over both civil and criminal matters, giving me a deep understanding of how judges make decisions. As former Deputy General Counsel for the BMV, I gained "behind-the-scenes" expertise in DUI license suspensions that most attorneys don't have. As a former Deputy Prosecutor, I learned exactly how the state builds its cases, allowing me to build even stronger defenses for my clients today.

My Commitment to You

When you call my office, you aren't "just another case number." Whether you are navigating the emotional complexities of a divorce, fighting a criminal charge, or protecting your family's future through estate planning, I provide personalized attention. I opened Horvath & Pelkey, LLP to ensure that every client has a partner who will fight to win, with candid communication about where their case stands.

A Proven Track Record

I am proud to be AV Preeminent Rated by my peers—the highest mark of professional excellence and ethics. Being named to the 2025 and 2026 Indiana Super Lawyers list is a testament to my dedication, but my greatest reward is the 100% recommendation rate from the clients I have helped through their most difficult moments. I believe in high-stakes advocacy with a human touch. I'm here to handle the legal burden so you can focus on moving forward with your life.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
