Attorney Information
Overview
Attorney Amy Durkin is the Managing Attorney for our Kansas City office. Amy has practiced all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, protective orders, and adoptions for over 30 years.
Amy attended Washburn University for her undergraduate studies and received her law degree from Baylor University School of Law. Amy was employed by Heart of Texas Legal Services and then Kansas Legal Services early in her career, where she largely represented women who had experienced domestic violence. This sparked a passion in her for representing and empowering women, who often feel like they are the underdog in divorce and custody matters.
Amy has successfully argued two cases before the Kansas Supreme Court, setting precedent in two areas which impact family law cases.
Amy is licensed in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas. She is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Douglas County Bar Association.
When not working, Amy enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, photography, and attending live music events.
