Hired Law firm 2018-2023In November of 2018 at about 1:30 in the morning I slipped on a patch of ice while doing a pretrip inspection of the truck I was to take to Wichita. I went over backwards and hit my head hard enough to knock me out. I was found by a couple of coworkers who got me on my feet and woke me up. I had a moderate concussion which turned out to be a brain injury. I was directed to the firm Mark and Burkhead by the union. After nearly five years of therapy and doctor after doctor after doctor I finally got to the mediation phase of this long process. That happened this last week. I could not be happier with the outcome. While I do not wish what I have been through on anyone, if you do find yourself in need of an injury attorney I don't think you could do better than Mark and Burkhead. They not only know the game inside and out they know all the players as well. They use their knowledge to get the best settlement possible for you. I highly recommend Mark and Burkhead if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing an injury attorney.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
