Consulted Law firm 2023Paul Hocker is one of the most aggressive and rude individuals I have ever spoken to. I ask a simple question about my account and he goes off the wall! Raising his voice, over talking when I ask questions for clarification. This has happened two times now. As he stated he fights for a living, everyday and the way he spoke to me for a second time shows why he is so demeaning! I will post a review about this horrible experience I have had twice now with this same agent Paul Hocker at Berman & Rabin

Consulted Law firm 2020-2021I agree with the above review. I am 71 years old. Still working they hired an attorney in Oklahoma to file my case for a garnishment with a bank that went out of business in 2004. Every document was false. I was not served so they won the case. after 5 months and 3 thousand dollars out of my check I won another case against them. The Oklahoma judge ordered a stop of garnishment and now they refuse to send me my money back. They are rude over the phone very unprofessional, hateful, and giving the profession a continued perception of attorneys being ruthless low lives who get into the game by crawling under the fence. Pitiful

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
