Eric was exactly the kind of attorney I needed during my divorce. He was straightforward, responsive, and never sugarcoated things, which I appreciated. Early on, he explained exactly how he would approach the case if he had been the attorney on the other side against me — and honestly, that was the moment I knew I wanted him on my side and not against me. He kept me focused when emotions were high and made sure my children and I were protected every step of the way. He also helped me understand when the risks outweighed the reward, which ultimately helped us reach a settlement out of court instead of dragging everyone through a long trial. At no point did I feel pushed into settling — I felt informed and confident in the decisions being made. That said, if it had gone in front of a judge, there is no question Eric is who I would have wanted standing beside me representing both me and my kids. He knows what he’s doing, stays calm under pressure, and made me feel confident even in the middle of a difficult situation. Divorce is exhausting, but having the right attorney matters. I’m very grateful Eric was in my corner.

My divorce was lasted over a year and a half, was very contentious and Eric stuck with me every step of the way. My ex had two attorneys during the process and we also had a guardian ad litem involved and Eric’s communication between all of the other parties and myself was very professional. Eric really took the time to listen to my story from the initial consultation onward. He is very compassionate, kind, and honest. He told me what the most likely outcomes would be all along the way in my custody case. My case ended up going to trial over property division and Eric was very prepared and prepared me very well for the questioning in court. We essentially won every argument made at trial. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I highly recommend Eric Morrison as an attorney to anyone going through such a difficult life transition as divorce.

I felt Mr Morrison was genuinely concerned about my welfare. He was always available and provided reasonable advise. He was also tried to keep costs and expenses to a minimum.

Eric was a beacon of hope to my family at a time when our options appeared limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed nigh on impossible. Not only was he able to defend us from an unjust accusation, his calm and empathetic demeanor offered emotional succor to myself and those I care about most. My children and I are eternally grateful for his service and I highly recommend him!

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
