New Orleans Car Accident Law Firm
Overview
Since 1980 the Law Offices of Gregory P. DiLeo, APLC, has represented clients throughout Louisiana for a wide range of personal injury matters. Our firm's practice has included litigation and personal injury since its inception. In 2005 we also added significant focus in hurricane-related property damage or wrongful death claims and class action/mass torts. Continuing into the next decade, Mr. DiLeo has continued in his specialized personal injury practice, trying several jury trial successfully to recover multi-million dollar verdicts, often receiving more than the verdict amount with significant additional judicial interest and cost allocations added to the verdict.
Mr. DiLeo is credited with record breaking multi-million dollar verdicts across Louisiana, as he continues to expand compensable personal injury damage awards for his clients. (See Tillman (2016); Duplessis (2018) and Stephenson (2019)).
We offer a high level of professional legal services to the community, but we also want to keep people informed about their legal rights and options. Our practice is a litigation practice, which requires that we be highly selective in the cases we take. While some cases are "small" due to limited injuries or limited availability of insurance proceeds, our office focuses on our clients' damages first and seeks all available insurance, self insurance, excess and umbrella insurance sources to ensure that the judgments and verdicts we win can be collected and recovered.
Mr. DiLeo stands head and shoulders above his competitors in the legal advertising sector through our "Your Legal Minute" and "Your Legal Thirty" TV and radio spots, where we provide public service announcement type ads on a wide range of legal help topics, including wrongful death cases, aggravation injuries, maritime legal rights, automobile accident tips and insurance claims. Click on the sidebar to the left to watch just a few of these educational videos. Advertising attorneys often are unable to successfully litigate cases before a jury because of the negative impact poor advertising practices employed by his competitors' ads have created in the minds of prospective jurors. For Mr. DiLeo, his advertising is an asset in selecting a jury, as his name is well recognized throughout Southeast Louisiana, as a credible and trusted source of reason and respect.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
