    Hired Attorney 2019-2021
It would be hard to list all the problems I had with Kyle Moore lawyer. My mother came to him when she was dying of horrible cancer to set up a special needs trust. He was often unresponsive and slow to get things done, even though time was short. After my mother died. Kyle Moore got a lot of money from me to continue all my mother paid him to do. So, I hired him after she died. My experience working with him was horrible. He advised me to do something that it turned out was very beneficial to him, but very costly and troublesome for me. He said, giving him extra power would just let him handle things for me. But, no, it was so hard to get him to do anything, and everything was so much harder and I had to pay him so much more. He rarely gave clear answers. Worst of all, was I lost so much because of a mistake he made with the trust. He was hired because he was supposed to know about SSI special needs trust, but he did it all wrong. Just about everything about it was wrong and it got me in a lot of trouble. Then, he was evasive when I tried to contact him about it. He indicated SSI made a mistake and he would talk to them. About ten months later after getting no progress or answers from him, I found out from another source that he had set up the trust wrong and it wasn’t SSI misreading things like he wanted me to believe. Though he never said it wasn’t his mistake, he was just vague and said he needed to talk to SSI and clear things up. I tried to work with him on alternatives, but he showed no evidence of wanting to help, even though it was all his fault. He's supposed to be good at this, which was why my mother went to him. But, apparently, he's not and it's left me very hurt and confused. I don’t see how he’s in business, but maybe I’m the only one with this situation that he hurt so much, so he doesn’t care. He secretly got life insurance money that was supposed to be part of my inheritance and kept it. I found this out later when I contacted the insurance company to find out about it and learned he got it. I told him to send it to me. He said he would, but it’s been over seven months and now he just ignores my emails. He still has a lot of my money, what my mother wanted to leave me, that he should not have gotten in the first place. Why does he think this is okay? I don’t know. He won’t answer my questions. Most of the time, he didn’t even respond to my messages about all these mishaps, and when he did, he was vague and didn’t answer my questions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
