very unsatisfied in this matter, and the outcome of my case i would not recommend this to no one in the annapolis area.I would first want to start off with mcgraw for his over rated fees just to get a discovery very over rated 2nd he wasnt very open about my case unless i contacted him,he stated he had another case else where and tried to put me on the back end which was very unprofessinal after i paid straight cash($500) for a reatainer fee ,altogther he wanted 2k which i talked him down to $1500 he still didnt fight. With everything prior to my court date nothing was said to me about him having his colleague cover for him untill the day before my appearance.

To Suzanne Houle: Dear Suzanne, I know how extremely hard you and your firm work on my case. I thank God that I chose you to represent me. I thank you and your firm for the great job you did. I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend anyone who is seeking legal counsel to you and your firm. Thanks again for the excellent job! Mark Hardesty

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
