Hired Attorney 2017-2023My lawyer, Michael Dempsher, has been very helpful to me regarding my complicated custody case. I learned much about legal matters over the years, 2017 to early 2023, and I don’t know how I would have survived this timeframe without his help and understanding. It has been a very rough, painful time, as the father of my son was extremely difficult to work with since he fought every inch of the way to make me appear – an unfit mother – as he called it. I was never the problem. Eventually, Mr. Dempsher became certain that I was not the one at fault, but the father most certainly was. Mr. Dempsher’s legal skills proved this in court, which became quite obvious to most in the court room. Over the years (since 2017), others that were familiar with my case said that they had never seen such a terrible and lengthy custody case in their lives. I have never seen any lawyer who responded as quick as Mr. Dempsher has with me. Whenever I had questions, he will respond to me right away, either by email or phone call. His work ethic is excellent, one who is willing to work late, even after the office has closed, to make sure he gets his work done. Anyone reading this review, and having such difficulties, and, problems similar to this (custody), you might wish to consider reaching out to Michael Demspsher for his help. He has certainly helped me and my son.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
