    Hired Law firm 2021
I've never hired Carlo/Cellai Law (nor would I EVER hired this nightmare of a law firm). Carlo made a huge professional mistake by verbally harassing/threatening me on behalf of his client - only to be left with extreme regret and pending legal issues himself now. I'm not here to convince you whether or not to hire Carlo/Cellai Law. But I felt morally obligated to share my nightmare experience with Carlo to prevent others from putting their business/brands at risk. Here's my story: - The property manager of the condo building where I live was hired/paid to repair a bathroom leak in a condo unit that I own here. Carlo allowed his client to move forward with the work without a legally executed agreement in place - huge red flag #1. - The work as never finished and resulted in an even bigger leak after the fact. His client claimed a 90 day warranty and refused to helo (again with no legally binding contract). He also didn't realize that he was already paid in advance and sent Carlo to collect a non-existent debt. - Carlo chose to send verbally threatening/harassment e-mails (both in e-mail and literally in the mail) ALL before gathering the facts. He also threatened me about an honest review I left on this client's business pages. You'll notice his tone totally changes (3rd screenshot) after realizing his mistake and finding himself facing litigation himself now, along with this client, for harassment. - Carlo (literally shocked by this...) chose to send a second letter in the mail to threaten me about another leak in the building without realizing that it's impacting property that I don't even own here. It's been comical and embarrassing to watch a lawyer of all people make such rudimentary mistakes like this... and repeatedly at that. Again, this is just my experience, make your own decision. But with your hard earned money, would you put your business/brand at risk with an incompetent lawyer who still practices law like we're still living the 80s? If it's me, I'm RUNNING like the plague.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
