Attorney Information
Overview
I began my career as a prosecutor in 2004 with the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office in Cambridge. After gaining trial experience, I returned to my hometown of North Adams and opened a solo practice.
Since 2009, I have practiced family law and represent clients in divorces, paternity cases, guardianships, modifications, custody, and child support matters. This area of law requires a delicate balance between strategic litigation and empathy for clients facing the biggest upheaval in their lives, emotionally and financially.
In 2021, after a decade of solo practice, I joined Donovan, O'Connor & Dodig because I believe that my clients will benefit from the team approach to litigation.

Hired Attorney 2021-2024Was it not for Jennifer Breen and the team at Donovan O’Connor & Dodig, LLP I truthfully believe I would not be at the amazing point I am in life currently with 50/50 custody of my children coming out of my divorce. Jen invested her time to hear my story, investigate facts, and fight for not only me, but more importantly for my children. She listened to my requests on the level of ferocity that I wanted to approach my legal matter, respected my religious views, and she spoke with immense wisdom, truth, and did not dance around subjects. Her knowledge of how the family court system works, DCF, monitored visits, education programs etc were exactly what I needed in order to make it to my goal of 50/50. More than that her expertise was extremely impressive and helped me realize how skilled and passionate she is about her job. There are no words I could put together that would accurately describe how happy, thankful and privileged I am that Jennifer Breen was my lawyer and agreed to represent me. I cannot recommend her and the team at Donovan O’Connor enough. I also worked with Kyle Christensen, who is very knowledgeable. I have a great deal of respect for him as he gave me wise counsel at the beginning of my situation and still respected my choice based on religion and love to go against it and still represent me. (I wish I had listened to him, but we can only move forward in life) Id also like to thank the rest of the team at Donovan O’Connor & Dodig who helped set up meetings, explain how certain processes work, or even do something as kind and loving as bringing a cup of coffee for me during an extremely hard moment. When I had Jen as my lawyer I not only had an extremely talented professional lawyer representing me and interested in my life, I felt like I truly had an entire team fighting for me. If you choose this firm you will not be disappointed.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
