Hired Attorney 2020-2023Attorney Ohlson was simply masterful in his strategies when dealing with the unfortunate instance when I was arrested for the first and only time in my life. At that time I really had no idea what was going on and wasn't even particularly corporative with my own attorney, but Attorney Ohlson still managed to take the optimal decision every step of the way. Not only did Attorney Ohlson obtain the best possible outcome for me, he also helped me get the mental health treatment I needed in order to avoid making mistakes that may have gotten me into future legal trouble. My life would likely be much worse now had I not been represented by Attorney Ohlson and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking the services he provide. Even AFTER my case got dismissed, Attorney Ohlson is STILL providing invaluable advice on how to get my case sealed and my actions regarding how to approach testifying for a different case where I was listed as a witness. I have offered to pay Attorney Ohlson fees for his follow up services but so far he has refused me. I thought that leaving him personalized reviews was the least I could do especially if he didn't want to accept payment.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
