Hired Law firm 2008-2021They are the worse attorneys office I have ever worked with. They mishandled the family trust and deeds to one of the properties. We discovered it years later. They had no good explanation. I had a call with an attorney to rectify it and had to chase them down after a month of no response. This mistake could have impacted our assts. They made no attempt to make it right on their end except to charge us $2,400. Attorney told me to call their cell phone and when I did, hung up on me. The receptionist only wanted my call back info and spoke over me when I was trying to give her additional information. When I asked her to please not rush me off the phone and to give me a chance to speak, she hung up on me.

Hired Law firm 2019-2021Considering elder law and estates are this firm's specialty, it's embarrassing the multiple filings, misinformation, as well as establishing dates for specific items and just not meeting them. The firm has extremely poor communication. Apparently the attorney is also a CPA and does it all....badly. If you want to take care of your family and NOT the lawyer....don't go here. The amount charge for this firm to settle an estate that was liquid....was astonishing. Overcharged and unhappy beneficiary. Don't let this be your loved one.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
