Consulted Attorney 1999-2001Recently, I decided to see if Julie Ginsburg was still working in order to write. Not to my surprise, I read a lengthy heartbreaking current bad review regarding a clients experience. My experience with Julie Ginsburg has been very similar to this mothers. After recommending that my 11 year old son could make the decision whether or not he wanted to see me, My ex husband ran with it, engaged in severe Parental Alienation, bankrupted me with court appearances and I haven't seen my son in 21 years. Congratulations Julie Ginsburg for destroying my relationship with my once, very close, son

Consulted Attorney 1997-1998Highly incompetent & inappropriate. She was charmed by my ex, a narcissistic sociopath. He was living with the woman he was having an affair with, but Julie didn't even check to find out about her situation....a court order in place that no unrelated men sleep in her home as she had young teenage daughters. Julie talked to my ex's attorney, which is not allowed during a GAL investigation. She wrote her report adding his name to the pediatrician's comment that we seemed like a nice family....although he never went to doctor's visits. She ignored the pages from my journal. She claimed he was the one caring for the children as he told her, but also wrote my friends had nothing to say about him because he was never home. She quoted his friend who was a hairdresser who said I was delusional, but didn't quote my hairdresser friend who told her how he ignored the children who were crying for the food she brought, because he wanted to eat before anyone else. He destroyed the children....1 became an unwed parent, and attacked his pregnant girlfriend, 1 became a heroin addict, and 1 went from man to man. He also went on to try to murder one of his accomplices in a scheme hoping to create a criminal case against me (not the first). Julie is incompetent, needs to study about personality disorders, & realize a man who flirts with her during a GAL investigation isn't really interested. Thanks for ruining my children

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
