Attorney Information
Overview
Leon Walsh is a seasoned trial attorney at McKeen & Associates, specializing in medical malpractice and complex personal injury litigation. Since joining the firm in 2021, he has secured over $35 million in settlements, relentlessly advocating for victims of negligence in a wide range of cases.
Leon has also achieved significant jury trial victories. In 2022, he obtained a $5.2 million verdict in a truck crash case. In February 2025, he won a jury verdict in Huron County for a woman injured during a botched gallbladder removal surgery—a case initially dismissed by the trial court but later reinstated by the Court of Appeals.
Beyond his medical malpractice and personal injury work, Leon successfully secured a $7 million settlement in an aviation negligence case, representing two farm workers who suffered severe injuries when an antique airplane crashed into the barn where they were working.
Outside the courtroom, Leon is deeply committed to raising awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a cause that is profoundly personal to him as his daughter battles the disease. He actively works to support research, advocacy, and efforts to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
When not fighting for his clients or championing CF awareness, Leon enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, bowling, or hitting the golf course.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
