Overview
Renee founded WN Law PLLC in 2011 in order to provide individuals with quality, affordable legal representation. Renee focuses her practice on both criminal law and family law. In her years of practice, Renee has gained extensive knowledge on how to most effectively represent her clients in order to provide the best possible outcome.
Renee has successfully represented individuals all over the State of Michigan. In her criminal practice, Renee has represented defendants facing everything from a civil infraction to a felony charge. Renee's experience includes crimes in the arena of drug crimes, theft and property crimes, juvenile crimes, violent crimes, sex crimes, driving infractions, and DUI/Drunk Driving crimes. Renee has experience in both state and federal court, including trials and appeals.
Renee also handles cases in the family law arena, where she has successfully represented clients in divorce cases, custody cases, parenting time cases, and post-judgment modifications. Renee became interested in family law when she began working in the abuse and neglect system as a therapist. Since 2004, Renee has worked with families, addressing issues of abuse and neglect, and thinking passionately to protect children and parents.
Renee earned her undergraduate degree from Calvin College, her master’s degree in psychology, magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University, and her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During law school, Renee received the Raymond Burr award for her outstanding performance in Criminal Law, the Certificate of Merit in both Criminal Law and Insurance Law and was a research assistant.
Renee is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar of Michigan, the Family Law section of the State Bar and the Grand Rapids bar, the Criminal Law section of the State Bar and the Grand Rapids Bar, and the Abuse and Neglect section of the Grand Rapids Bar.
