Nicolas “Nic” Monarrez earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University – Sandra Day O’Connor Law School and a Bachelor in Governmental Studies with an Emphasis in Legal Studies from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Nic was a board member of the Student Bar Association and Chicano Latino Law Student Association during law school. While in law school, Nic gained valuable experience in criminal law through his involvement with the Post-Conviction Clinic. This early exposure to cases and clients helped Nic to develop a client-facing approach to his work and experience with criminal appeals. In law school, Nic worked with R&R Law Group, an aggressive and accomplished Criminal Defense Firm in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Nic started his career in criminal defense as an attorney with R&R Law Group. He worked in various Arizona counties, successfully defending his clients and winning multiple jury and bench trials.

In 2023, Nic and his family moved to the great city of Detroit to be near family. Nic brings the experience gained from exposure to different courts and areas of law to DICKSTEIN & AMBERG, P.L.L.C., along with his tireless work ethic, persuasive writing skills, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.

Nic is a State Bar of Michigan member and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Nic maintains memberships with the Detroit Bar Association, the Michigan Association for Justice, and the Hispanic Bar Association.
