Overview
BENJAMIN H. PARDUN has been practicing in the area of DWI defense since 2008. In that timeframe, he has handled thousands of DWI cases. After completing his undergraduate studies at St. John’s University in 2004 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government, Ben went on to attend the University of St. Thomas School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2008. During his time in law school, he was a member of the Native American Law Student Association, participated in the Intramural Moot Court, and was the recipient of the Dean’s Award. Ben started his legal career in criminal defense with the downtown Minneapolis law firm of Gerald Miller & Associates. Ben was eventually offered a position in 2015 with Meaney & Patrin, P.A. due to his unique knowledge and extensive experience with DWI defense in Hennepin County and has been with the firm ever since.
Ben has been a zealous advocate for his clients, fighting tooth and nail to protect them from damaging DWI charges. Within his legal community, Ben maintains close affiliations with many legal organizations such as the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Minnesota DWI Attorneys, the Hennepin County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association. Outside of his legal community, Ben joined the Maple Grove Fire Department in 2013 as a volunteer firefighter, was promoted to Lieutenant in 2018, and continues to protect the people in Hennepin County (and beyond) in both of his professions. Ben was born in Spooner, Wisconsin, raised in both Burnett County, Wisconsin (father) and Anoka County (mother), and currently lives with his wife and their two young children in Hennepin County.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
