Kamyar is my lawyer and one of the best lawyer that I met. He helped me to apply for my asylum application and I got my approval and I really appreciate him.

The most competent immigration lawyer in Minnesota! I normally don’t write reviews, but I am making an exception here, Unfortunately, I had a complicated immigration case in my life. I saw several law firms before I found the law office of Mr. Kamyar; I was under a time crunch when Mr. Kamyar agreed to take my difficult case. He is an excellent attorney who really goes above and beyond for his client, and very smart, honest, accommodating and explains to you clearly the problem and the solution. You can easily approach him if you have questions, and he gives his personal utmost attention to your case. When you are in immigration distress and physical pain it is difficult to think clearly and make good decisions. That, in addition to not understanding a legal process complicates matters even more. Mr. Kamyar explained the law, outlined in clear language the steps in the process that where needed to be done. He was reassuring, articulate, knowable and effective. Mr. Kamyar made the process so much easier and gave me peace of mind in a stressful but successful outcome. Kamyar was selected on recommendation from a trusted friend and was some of the "Best" advice I have ever received. Thanks Again, Kamyar! You are a real court room fighter!!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
