Hired Law firm 2023I would highly recommend you pass on this firm if you're a father in a custody case. Katherine Rotmil was my lead attorney and she hardly communicated with me at all. I believe we had a total of 3 phone calls in a span of a few months. In fact, most of my case communications were regarding payments (take that for what it's worth). I received no strategic direction and was often the one updating my team on the progression of my case. When I pushed back on them about this, I was met with indifference and some hostility. For the few thousand that I paid them, I received 3 phone calls, a process server, no communication, and incompetence. Pass on them if you value your time, money, and most importantly, establishing parenting time with your child.

Consulted Law firm 2023Absolutely criminal lawyers. Took a large sum of money up front before i could meet attorney, assigned attorney yelled at me and told me to shut up and listen during first phone call with them. They then hung up on me and filed a withdrawal notice with the court. I was audibly laughed at when I asked for a refund of the thousands they stole from me. Stay away!

Hired Law firm 2022-2023I would not recommend these people. Buyer Beware They take your money up front before you even get to meet your lawyer or see what their experience level is. Once you get assigned a lawyer you will feel like you have been taken. This place is managed by Erin Turner that can not admit to fault.

Hired Law firm 2020-2021was extremely cleIar about services I was receiving from a currently hired lawer. An attourney at the law firm had stated everything my lawer was doing was wrong and they could do much better. After they were retained my attourney was switched to an attourney who provided a worse outcome than the lawer I had fired to retain them. During the process the law firm was a complete push over as if the opposing council was in charge. They refused to put in an effort to fight for my case and played nice to the opposing council who was saying false accusations and disrespectful language all along. My attourney with this law firm never even stood up for me once. When the stipulated divorce agreement was violated by the opposing party my attourney with this firm refused to take action against them as it was not worth their time. Allowed an order to file ASAP to co on unfilled for nearly a month. The delay in filing due to the states laws prevented on me closing on my home causing homelessness for my family of 4 plus pers. This cost alot of money in damages and yet the firm refused to put effort in, fight for me, or even care about the situation the violation had put us all in. Bare minimal effort at a top price. The lawer was a complete push over the entire time at my expense. Now to bring up their flat rate fee structure. Do not fall for this. They work in packages and each action is a seperate retainer fee costing thousands of dollars. 2500 for negotiations, 4500 for mediation, another fee for pre trial..., over 2 grand to write the decree review and file. If you need an order for protection expect to pay 5 grand for that. If you choose to go with the law firm make sure you get a brochure and details about their entire fee schedule, they are extremely misleading in this my previously retained attourney would have cost half at an hourly rate.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
