Hired Attorney 2019-2020Tami is an excellent attorney. I consulted with several attorneys before selecting her. She is responsive, displays a high level of professionalism, and incredible competence. Tami displayed seasoned experience, wisdom, and knowledge. It was not difficult to trust her expertise and go with her recommendations even with space to go an alternate route if I so desired. When I had questions, Tami was willing to answer them with the thoroughness I desired. Likewise, at no point did I ever feel as though my time was wasted. Attorneys are expensive and Tami was worth every penny, she knows what she is doing she is highly efficient and transparent about the legal process and potential outcomes. I 100% felt as though I was making decisions that were very informed which allowed me to have some sense of peace in the process and my decisions as well as the outcome. I came across Tami's information after asking for referrals in a parent's group her name came up considerably more than any other attorney in town with nothing but positive and candid reviews. If you are looking for a family law attorney it would be a mistake to not consider Tami for representation.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
