    Hired Law firm 2024-2025
    Recommends this Law firm
Struggling with physical and/or mental disability is hard enough without adding the stresses of legal paperwork and phone calls, but Reitan Law Office gave me a lifeline. They made time for my questions and concerns without making me feel burdensome, even reexplaining things just to help ease the anxiety I had about the processes. A special thank you to Ethan C. Johnson, who represented me and my case in court. Mr. Johnson was efficient and thorough while always treating me like a human being in need, and not just another name on a piece of paper. I can't recommend them enough.

A friend recommended Jacob Reitan to us, and we're so happy he did. Jacob was organized, thorough, and a complete professional. We're very pleased and would not hesitate to contact him again.

Warning! Do Not Use this firm! They purposely lie and delay things to get more money in their pocket. They will rarely e-mail and will instead send letters to your Po box because it takes longer, they are well aware of all the forms that need to be filled out but will wait until SSD requests them and then try to have you do it. For my case specifically they decided to not report the last 3 years of employment and when I asked for help calling in because I was overwhelmed (I have PTSD) they ignored me and sent another letter claiming they left me a voicemail (which I don't have) and telling me to call SSD. They are preying upon the sick, exploiting the government, and hoping that everyone is too concerned with their health to notice. Please take this review seriously as it's likely costed me any hope I have for receiving compensation. I wish you all the best with any illness or injury you may have and hope this review saves you the stress and heartache I've had to experience whilst dealing with Reitan Law office. Much love.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
