Do not hire to defend yourself in a civil matter. These guys are literally jawdropping creepy stupid. You would have to be a to not ketch on to the direction they are trying to throw you. It was towards the underside of the closest bus available! Literally straight up negligent in the highest degree possible. I, born and raised Amish living a sheltered live couldn't believe my ears what I was hearing or my eyes on what I was seeing. My brain wasn't able to comprehend what was happening to me right away. I told them quote: I don't understand why the **** I haven't fired you yet: end quote. They beat me to the punch. They asked me to come to their office. There they terminated the defense I had tried to hire them for and never received. It was divine intervention. I thought I'm stupid and uneducated because of my sheltered upbringing, but that's actually what helped me not put up with just staying quiet. They realized that I'm seeing serious negligence and I just haven't yet discovered that it actually infact is what I'm believing it to be but so drastically stupid they were that everything about it was to me just like I'm somehow not getting it or missing the whole point so bad that I was ready to get a mental health evaluation to check my sanity. I truly was scared. I just knew I lost my mind because I realized that if I really did lose my mind I wouldn't be able to know it on my own I figured out! It was horrendous for the feeling and just writing this account still is sending chills up and down my spine and making my skin crawl. Amongst goosebumps and hair on end. Look out for these guys in civil cases. You better be on your toes. Literally they harmed me. I welcome someone to call me if they don't belive this.

I had these guys hired to protect me in a civil case. Also in a criminal case. They did an awesome job for me in my criminal case but I family court they were worse than having no lawyers at all. They hurt me and were throwing me under the bus. I told them quote : I don't understand why in the I don't fire you guys. It was literally like they were stoned on Marijuana. Sleeping at the wheel and not even realizing it! They had a disconcerting aura of disconnect with the situation at hand. The judge asked them if they don't want to object to some of the requests made by my wife and her lawyer. He goes quote: Well it's already a requirement in his probation so I figured I'll just let you decide. :end quote. It was infact not a requirement of my probation at the time but it did become a requirement that day. It was a appearance on zoom in a civil proceeding in court in front of justice Jeremy Clienfelter in Fillmore County Minnesota. In August or September of 2024. I started hyperventilating from the shear negligence of practice they were doing for me! I waved my hands and arms for attention and they just looked at me as if I was stupid and refused to let me speak by going into a breakout room. I pounded on the the door for the tailor to let me out before I suffocate. The case was crashing down around me and I saw loud and clear their incompetence or unwillingness to earn the money I paid them in advance to protect me. They knew I will fire them but they beat me to the punch. I was still trying to process what I had just seen and heard a week later. My PO checked and double checked to find what Mr. Plachecki was claiming and in the end did not find it and asked me to let him know to contact her. My If you want to verify what I'm saying here. They did return every penny I had prepaid them for the civil case. That told me they knew they were in the wrong. They were good on my criminal matter. In Family Court I did better, way better on my own without a lawyer. It was a godsend. Like divine intervention that they refuse to further defend me. My wife's lawyer withdrew her case before our next hearing after that. Her lawyer was a lawyer out of Northwest Rochester Minnesota. Jill was her name.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
