Consulted Law firm 2021Where to begin with this review – UNPROFESSIONAL . I think that sums it up perfectly.. My Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice case against Merit Health Wesley was referred to this firm for “review”. Their so-called, free-lance, “expert” Amy Cox – retired nurse – is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with and this includes the sub-standard nursing staff at Merit Health Wesley. . Her first call to me was in late October. She said she had partially reviewed the MASTER medical file ( nearly 3,000 pgs ) I had acquired and had some questions… She asked and I answered. She said due to her schedule she would get back in touch with me in about 2 weeks… I finally heard from her again on December 8th. When she decided to call me while driving down a road, she KNEW she would lose service on, to another appointment. Our call was dropped at least 3 times. She was NOT taking notes; asked the SAME questions from the October phone call – so obviously she did NOT take notes during that phone call either ( she was probably driving then as well ) – and then ASSUMED answers to other questions she was NOT able to ask because of her failure to take our phone call seriously – because her phone kept dropping the call and she had not bothered to take any notes during the first phone call in October. . This firm determined that my Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice case would be difficult to prove, although valid, because this woman couldn’t even figure out how to properly take notes; make a professional phone call to a potential client, etc.. She couldn’t even be bothered with treating the potential client as such… I mean hello – calling someone while driving down a road you KNOW you will lose service on pretty much says all you need to know about this law firm’s so-called, free-lance, “expert” witness… and this law firm’s true professional standards – as this behavior is considered acceptable and is tolerated… . When I explained these facts to the lawyer who had referred my case to these so-called professionals; he asked me to give him 48 hours to contact the senior partners.. As this review is being posted far and wide – that tells you how that went.. . Steer CLEAR of this law firm and it’s complete UNPROFESSIONALISM… Their “expert” witness is a joke, and wouldn’t know a real case if it was handed to her on a silver platter – Which 2 other retired nurses did just that for her… Because of her unprofessional behavior not 1 but 2 law firms have now lost out on this case… I will be seeking representation elsewhere…

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
