Overview
Jessica was born and raised in the Rust Belt of western Pennsylvania. In 2000, Jessica moved to New York City to attend Barnard College/Columbia University. After graduating with degrees in Psychology and Gender Studies, Jessica decided to stay in the NYC metro area and attend law school at Rutgers Law School. While at Rutgers, Jessica was selected as a Tischler Scholar, which is the award given to the #1 ranked student in each class year. Jessica graduated with high honors and was inducted into the Order of the Coif legal honor society.
Since finishing law school, Jessica has worked for large law firms in both New York and Omaha doing internal investigations and civil litigation. Her current practice focuses on litigating discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims on behalf of employees. Throughout her legal career, Jessica has also demonstrated a commitment to helping marginalized communities access the courts, including by representing trafficking victims in immigration proceedings and assisting transgender clients obtain legal name changes.
Jessica is proud to call Omaha home now. She lives in west Omaha with her partners and four kids (including a set of triplets). In her nearly nonexistent free time (triplets!), Jessica enjoys getting outdoors for hiking, swimming, and gardening.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
