Overview
A native of Reno, Nevada, Doug Brown brings a disciplined perspective to personal injury law, shaped by his service in the United States Marine Corps from 1989 to 1993. Following his military tenure, he returned to Nevada to begin his academic journey, graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a B.A. in Political Science in 1997, and subsequently earning his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2001.
Doug’s early career was defined by prestigious clerkships that provided a behind-the-bench view of the Nevada legal system. He served as a legal extern for the Honorable Howard D. McKibben and later as a law clerk for the Honorable William A. Maddox in Nevada’s First Judicial District Court. These experiences laid the groundwork for his admission to the Nevada State Bar in 2001.
Before joining the team at Benson & Bingham Accident Injury Lawyers, Doug honed his skills in complex civil litigation as a partner and shareholder at Lemons, Grundy & Eisenberg. His courtroom record is extensive, having navigated: More than 12 jury trials to verdict, Significant experience in high-stakes arbitrations and mediations, Strategic advocacy in complex civil disputes.
Doug is recognized by his peers for the highest level of professional excellence, holding the AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell. His commitment to the legal profession is reflected in his active membership in the Washoe County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court.
Beyond the courtroom, Doug is a dedicated advocate for Nevada’s natural resources. He is the founder and director of Truckee River Public Waters, a nonprofit organization focused on protecting and improving public access to local lands.
Doug remains deeply connected to his Reno roots. When he isn't advocating for clients, he is likely fly fishing, bird hunting with his dog, Rosebud, or enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Leslie.
