Hired Attorney 2013-2014She is AMAZING! She is kind, caring and knows the laws and your rights & she will fight for you and your family! She was on top of things and details in my case against my kids father who was on drugs and not a safe place for my child! she was professional and consistent! She reassured me when I was feeling overwhelmed and defeated! Anyone who chooses her to represent them will be putting their child’s best interests in the right hands! I will forever be grateful for this woman and the way she worked so hard to keep my daughter’s safety and well being as a priority! She told me to put my trust In her and I’m thankful I did! I will recommend her to anyone I know who is battling in court to keep their child safe and out of harms way!

Hired Attorney 2018-2020If I could give a minus rating I would. This woman was never prepared, she didn't do the research she was hired to do and on top of that she had an attitude of entitlement. I was working on a formal complaint against her as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) when she apparently had lost her license as a GAL. I warn anyone against hiring this incompetent attorney.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
