Hired Law firm 2024-2025David Miller did an excellent job for our family. Two lawyers who were not from the Chatham area said we had no case. David, with his knowledge of Chatham, took our case and prevailed.
-
Consulted Law firm 2023Terrible real estate attorney. Unresponsive, arrogant, condescending and determined to blow up even the simplest transaction. There are several great attorneys in Morris County, avoid this one.

Hired Law firm 2020I just moved back to NJ for a job and decided to buy a town home in Passaic County. David came highly recommended by my realtor and after speaking with David, I felt we could work well together. He made many good recommendations and once I made a decision on a course of action, we moved ahead. The closing went smoothly and I was glad David was looking out for me.

Hired Law firm 2005-2021I've done a number of real estate transactions with David, and have always had an excellent experience. He is knowledgeable and highly experienced, and takes the time to explain issues and possible consequences with his clients. His positive relationships with other attorneys as well local inspection experts, make him a valuable resource. I can't recommend him highly enough.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
