Overview
Linda Schofel has been a family law attorney for more than 30 years, including more than 20 years as a partner at her previous firm: Newman, McDonough, Schofel & Giger, P.C. In March of 2022, she moved to Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri Webb to join their family law division as “Of Counsel.” She has Masters Degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling and Social Work. Ms. Schofel is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is collaboratively trained. She is a trained mediator for domestic violence matters in the New Jersey pilot program. Her background, training, and experience in individual, group, and family therapy together with her degree in law led her to serve as a family and divorce mediator. Out of her dual background, she has developed an award-winning reputation as a fair, patient, thoughtful, and resourceful parenting coordinator and guardian ad litem for children and adults. Ms. Schofel has been working with the courts in matters pertaining to families and children in various capacities since 1973, including serving as a court-appointed therapist and forensic social worker, as well as directing the Adolescent Assessment Team at the District Court in Somerville, Massachusetts. She also maintained a private therapy practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ms. Schofel’s level and scope of achievement have resulted in appointments from judges in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Union County Superior Courts to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem and/or as a Parent Coordinator where she has served with distinction. She has appeared in court on numerous occasions, including an argument before the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Among her many honors, Ms. Schofel has been included by Super Lawyers for the years 2007 through 2023. In 2009, she was named as among the top 50 New Jersey women attorneys.

Hired Attorney 2016-2017Linda Schofel: I recommend you run away from this woman as fast as you can. She allows her ego to taint her decisions and can be a danger to your children. She is a vain, egotistical, and vengeful attorney. She ignored my daughter completely when she expressed fear of her father. Lied to the judge stating I wrote a document that my daughter had written. And, now that my daughter is an adult, Linda Schofel is the person who is responsible for my daughter having ZERO relationship with her father. ZERO! Linda thought she knew best. Her LCSW degree does not qualify her for anything complex when it comes to human beings. Well, Linda, congratulations. The guy that conned you (yes, he conned you, like so many others) has not had a relationship with his daughter is almost 2 years now! She was appointed by the court. I had no choice. She also blatantly LIED TO THE JUDGE saying I owed her all the legal fees I was responsible for. Cost me plenty to fight that one in court, proving what I had paid to date….what a C U Next Tuesday! Oh, and as others have stated, she will absolutely over bill you! She even had a newspaper clipping that would be on the wall next to your head showing how she went after a client for payment. She is a nasty person! CAVEAT EMPTOR

Hired Attorney 2022-2024This woman is self-serving and greedy. All she wants is money. She is either too unintelligent or intentionally blind to what is happening in the case. She picks one parent that she favors and does everything to protect this person. She is not a fair parenting coordinator. The damage she has done to our family is tremendous. She's vindictive. When she does not like what you have to say, she uses her position to make recommendations against you. Sick. There is a special place in Hades for immoral people like her. Stay away!

Hired Attorney 2022-2024This review is for Linda Schofel. She is the parenting coordinator for our case. She is your quintessential greedy, immoral, unethical lawyer. Rather than looking at actual evidence, she seems to be easily charmed by men whom she deems attractive. This woman is reckless with children's lives and does use her position for retribution when the parent she does not favor speak out against her. When she looks at families, all she sees are the proverbial money signs in her eyes. Disgusting excuse for a human.
