Attorney Information
Overview
Garry R. Salomon is a founding member and managing partner of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C., with over 35 years of experience as a personal injury trial attorney. He has successfully represented thousands of clients and won several multimillion-dollar settlements for his injured clients.
Garry R. Salomon is truly an expert in injury law, having handled claims involving motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle, pedestrian, bicycle, and truck and bus accidents. He is also experienced in representing workers injured on the job in construction site accidents, dram shop liquor liability law, slip trip and falls, wrongful death, and other devastating circumstances.
Garry Salomon is the author of a book titled “The Consumer’s Guide to New Jersey Personal Injury Claims”. The book is a 168-page guide for people injured by a car accident or who have suffered injuries from a fall. The book is available in English, Spanish, Korean, and Polish and has a glossary of definitions of terms commonly used in personal injury cases, as well as a very handy appendix. The appendix includes the New Jersey Police Accident Report Grid, and summaries of New Jersey law pertaining to the Limited Tort, Wrongful Death, and the New Jersey Contingent Fee Court Rule.
Garry most particularly enjoys the courtroom environment and concentrates on bringing his cases to the trial stage. He is quoted as saying, “An insurance company will only consider paying fair and just compensation if they see that the plaintiff is ready to let a jury decide the case; however, if an insurance company is unwilling to deal fairly with the plaintiff, then I trust a jury to decide the outcome.” He believes that if a case is properly prepared for trial, it will likely result in a favorable out of court settlement.
Garry has developed a deep understanding of trauma medicine, especially injuries regarding the brain and spinal cord such as quadriplegia, disc herniations, and fractures. He also has a passion for representing injured children, since their injuries are often unique, as a “pediatric injury lawyer.”
Mr. Salomon is “Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey,” an honor bestowed upon less than 2% of all New Jersey lawyers. He was recently recertified again by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney on January 1, 2025, valid through November 30, 2030. He is admitted to practice law in all counties of the State of New Jersey as a member of the New Jersey Bar and the United States District Courts. He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
Garry Salomon is proud to have successfully litigated cases against all major insurance companies doing business in the State of New Jersey, including Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide, Travelers, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, GEICO, Chubb, Wausau, Hartford, NJM, Plymouth Rock, Selective, USAA, and Farmers.
Garry has earned several other accolades in recognition of his legal accomplishments and devotion to his clients. The organization National Trial Lawyers has named him one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers,” and 201 Magazine has listed him as one of “Bergen’s Top Trial Lawyers.” In addition to being recognized for over 15 years as a “SuperLawyer” by Thomson Reuters Corporation in its annual SuperLawyers list, he has been recognized by Martindale Hubble, a highly respected and reputable attorney peer review rating organization, by conferring upon him an “AV” rating, which is their highest rating possible for an attorney.
Garry also authored an editorial, “About Personal Injury Lawyers“, which was published in The Trial Lawyer Magazine in the June 2024 issue. He has also authored several op-eds, including “Face it, No-Fault Insurance has Failed,” and “Summation: Bringing it home.”
For over 28 consecutive years, Garry has been a member of the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) and contributes twice a year to legal conferences and seminars. In 1998, he founded as co-moderator and co-chairman the “Litigation at Sunrise” Meadowlands and Boardwalk Seminars sponsored by NJAJ. In 2025, the New Jersey Association for Justice awarded Garry Salomon the Gerald B. O’Connor Award. The award is presented to veteran current or former NJAJ members who, like Gerald B. O’Connor, have had a stellar legal career and have exhibited skill as a trial attorney, has exhibited creativity as a trial attorney, and has exhibited professionalism as a trial attorney.
Some of Garry’s past speaking engagements included “Summation: Bringing it Home.” In conjunction with the seminar, the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine published an article by Mr. Salomon with the same title. He also formerly served as Chairman and program chair of the New Jersey Association for Justice Trial Academy, during which he lectured on “The Art of Direct Examination”. He has lectured on topics such as Cross Examination, Motorcycle Accidents and Accident Reconstruction, Adding Value to Personal Injury Cases, Direct Examination of Chiropractors, Legal Ethics, Wrongful Death Litigation, Evidence, and Deposition Practice.
Garry R. Salomon was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, which is where he also met his future partners, Samuel L. Davis and Marc C. Saperstein. After graduating from Bergenfield High School, Mr. Salomon attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of Akron School of Law, and began practicing law after he was admitted to the New Jersey Bar. Prior to studying law, Garry Salomon studied accounting and briefly worked as an accountant at Arthur Young & Company before entering law school.
Outside of the office, Mr. Salomon can be found playing his Les Paul guitar, practicing martial arts, skiing, boating, and spending time with his family.
