When a lawyer is liar and takes advantage of the old and ones who have no family, I find them to be the worst human beings with no moral. Ellyn is a theif, in no way possible would I ever go to her for elderly estate advice nor as someone I would trust with my money or finances. Ellyn worked a case where she found an easy target which was an elderly disabled person with no family and stole all the persons money which she had in the bank. This is a type of scheme that some these law firms who have a niche in this industry, who try and target indviduals who have alot of money left to them, which they find out through other resources and start becoming their friends to manipulate them for all their money as if they are doing their due diligence by really helping client. Therfore, this is what Ellyn did. Please beware all of you. If any of you are looking for a great lawyer who really is there to help you and and not act negligent DO NOT USE ELLYN ! she will rob you!!! sad thing that the elderly get taking advantage of like this. God will curse her for that.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
