James explained everything clearly to me. He spoke with me as many times as times as I needed. I felt very happy with him long before he got my case dismissed! Thank you very much James! I would definitely call on him again, and I have already recommended him to friends and family and I will continue to do so.

James was super friendly, made time to hear what I had to say and really went above and beyond to take care of all my tickets and penalties associated.

I wish there were an option to give 0 stars, as even 1 star is far too generous. I had an extremely negative experience with James Medows and “his Law Firm”. They delayed progress on my case for two years, during which time I often had to handle tasks that should have been their responsibility. They failed to respond to the court's requests, ignored opportunities to negotiate a deal, and did not appear in court on my behalf. Additionally, getting in contact with James Medows and “His firm” was nearly impossible, making the situation even more frustrating. James Medows is incompetent. This lack of reliability and communication forced me to request a refund. I STRONGLY ADVISE against using this firm for any legal matters. I ultimately decided to fire James Medows and handle the case myself, which led to everything being dismissed. The situation almost resulted in my license being suspended. If I hadn't received notices from the court and acted quickly to resolve the matter, I would have been driving with a suspended license. I have evidence to substantiate my claims. "It’s all or nothing”… and unfortunately, in this case, it was nothing but a disgrace." You may boast about your '1000+ reviews,' but if potential clients saw how you handled my case, I assure you, no one would consider hiring you as their lawyer.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
