Hired Attorney Peter L. Rand 2000I truly cannot say anything worse about this man. He steals money from clients. He never returns phone calls or emails. He actually writes "memos" to the other attorney but they are never sent. I will beg you to stay away and to save your money from literally being stolen. Just google about the money he stole from an elderly client.

Hired Law firm 2018-2019If you want an attorney who won’t return your phone calls, won’t file paperwork on time and shows up an hour and a half late for your trial then Peter Rand is your man. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and find yourself a real attorney. This one is absolutely terrible.

Hired Attorney Peter L. Rand 2019Do yourself a favor and do not hire Peter Rand! Might as well flushed $5,000 down the toilet. Works against you instead of for you. My soon to be ex husband and his lawyer had HUGE smiles on there face leaving court and I left crying. I would have done better representing myself. The only thing I can do at this point is save someone else from the same mistake- stay away from this man!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
