    Hired Attorney 2022-2023
If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would and I certainly would not recommend this attorney under any circumstance. He dealt with me in a rude and irreverant manner. He does not have any assistants so attorney is forced to handle all tasks. As a result, he is slow to respond and to complete tasks. At times he appears overwhelmed with other tasks and clients. Attorney uses technology sparringly, disingenuous with reasoning, potentially not truthful in explanations, does not consult with client on meaningful matters, unconventional, lacking professionalism and the list could go on. Emails are not written in complete phrases, few word answers, and not timely with communications. Potentially late in paying funds out of escrow. Does not keep comprehensive records, writes in pencil. Takes smartphone pictures rather than scanning documents with a scanner and this makes it hard to read documents. All in all, the manner in which this attorney communicates, conducts busines and handles himself, this attorney makes it painful, frustrating, and potentially expensive (beyond fees paid due to collateral time lost and undue stress) to work with. I have examples of situations over numerous months of dealing with this individual to support each of the above descriptions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
