Hired Law firm 2014-2024I have had an excellent working relationship with Fessenden, Laumer, and DeAngelo for 10 years now. An injury at work led to both a workers compensation and disability case. The lawyers and staff worked diligently to further my best interests. Their help and actions eased my financial burden and led to the appropriate medical treatment to deal with my injuries. They represented me at the hearings and have done a lot of work to deal with my case over the years. I recently needed an additional surgery associated with the original injury. They didn’t hesitate to help me through the process once again. As a result of their guidance and another surgery, I now have a better quality of life. I highly recommend Fessenden, Laumer, and DeAngelo for your workers compensation and disability compensation needs. I was able to communicate by phone, email, and in person. They were very patient with me and made sure I had a complete answer to all my questions and needs. Everyone on staff has been professional, compassionate, and helpful.

Consulted Law firm 2022Was really upset when I was told I couldn't even get an injury consultation without giving up my SSN! I refused and then called them back to request they delete all my other personal information they requested, including my birthdate. If you are fine with giving out your SSN, along with all your other personal information, just to speak with an attorney, then they are the one for you, but not for me.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
