I am rescinding my previous review...this so called proffesional has bailed and abandoned us after not finishing the job...we are persistent in calling and trying to contact him, and no body is answering, after a full year of telling us they will get back to us, and after Sal gave the case over to one of his so called colleagues, named Val..so it is just not Cataldo its the Law Firm called Daugherty and Cataldo. My wife talked to the owner and he bailed too, never got back to us .I am 70 years old and never needed a lawyer my whole life..So after this experience I still have to get another lawyer to help us...you may want to think seriously about hiring this firm...also they got paid in full.....This is all I got to say

I have to say first, who ever wrote the last review, is not living in the same world I live in....the man I had working for me on a will that had us, my wife and me as beneficiaries, was one of the most hard working, persistent professional that never gave up on us during the pandemic until he got us what we wanted and deserved 100%. He actually saved our lives... I can say with much confidence you will not find a finer lawyer and person ... This guy was unbelievable.

After regrettably hiring Sal Cataldo I became familiar with his practices regarding real estate. It is questionable at best, illegal, unethical, and immoral at worst. Don’t hire Sal Cataldo, don’t get involved with him in any way. He will be charged criminally and I regret ever being acquainted with him let alone doing business with him.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
