Hired Law firm 2019-2020Delgado Is THE WORST immigration attorney. They are thieves and crooks and just take peoples money and don’t do anything and then are impossible to reach. And you can only talk with a secretary at best. Delgado took $1,500.00 from my best friend and he is from El Salvador. He had a court date issued by ice. And we brought that to Delgado. Stating he had court on January 2, 2020. We got a phone call from her office saying that she couldn’t find him on the docket and he doesn’t have court on January 2 2020 And he doesn’t have to show up to court. But that didn’t feel right since we had paperwork ordering him to show up there in front of a federal judge. So when my friend got to his Immigration court in Federal Plaza in New York City, they confirmed he does in fact have court and now we have a lawyer that’s has taken $1500 from him and left him hanging with no legal representation with my friend is stating his case why he needs stay in the country. I beg that anybody who is having an immigration problem stay as far away from this crooked immigration attorney!!!!!! Please please please stay away so you don’t get screwed as much as we did. I will be filing a complaint against the Better Business Bureau too, she doesn’t get to do this to people and I can’t wait to see her response to this review. I did more digging and it looks like when she started her firm it was mostly for real estate but there is an article about her online saying that she “goes where the money is” sounds like fakers and scumbags who only care about the money. I wish I did more research on her. WORST ATTORNEY EVER!!!!! DO NOT RETAIN THIS LAWYER!!!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
