Hired Attorney 2017-2021Thomas Johnson was over my son case. He was awful, he didn't produce my son's evidence, he didn't call my witness to come to court , he lied and said he did, I called all 20 people and he did not. Thomas Johnson had a lineup that the DA did on my son and all 4 people picked out 2 other people. The 4 people in the court room stated that my son wasn't the one who robbed them. To top it off Thomas Johnson fell asleep in the court room during my son trail. If you don't want to go to jail. Stay away from this lawyer.

Hired Attorney 2019this man is now a good lawyer. very shady. i now have a guilty charge on my record after he told me it was dismissed. the money i gave to him i thought it was for his service but it was court fees. he is super rude. doesn’t let you know what’s going on through the process…. i could go on. he was working on my friends case i thought i could trust him. my friend was sitting in jail meanwhile he was telling me he was coming out soon. we had to find a new lawyer. save yourself the trouble or you will have more dealing with this joke that calls himself a man of god and a lawyer. HORRIBLE. oh yea he gave me a ride we were getting lunch and he said something to me along the lines of “making sure i keep my pipes working.” after he asked me if i had a boyfriend. so he’s a weirdo as well,

Hired Attorney 2021-2022Missed court dates, did not respond to questions, was condescending whenever a question was asked of him. Pushed and attempted to intimidate me to plea out four times, though it was clear I was innocent, and I made it clear that I wanted to go to trial. Case was dismissed thanks to me standing my ground, but I would have a record if I listened to him. He is either utterly incompetent or deliberately and criminally negligent. Seemed like he was taking the side of the defense. Actually worse than a public defender, do not give this man your money. He should be investigated, as I would not be surprised to find out he has an interest in forcing his clients to plea out so he gets their money without doing any real work.

Hired Attorney 2015-2021This man is full of it. He literally had my sister and family in the dark during the whole entire process just for my sister to have to go back to prison in the end. He blocked my number a long time ago. He’s not personable, and uncaring, UNKNOWLEDGEABLE, and down right SELFISH.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
