Firm Information

Overview

Attorney Bailey Melvin founded our Greenville law office, The Melvin Law Firm, with the goal of focusing exclusively on providing representation to North Carolina residents whose lives have changed due to the negligence of medical professionals and facilities. Today, after a legal career spanning more than 20 years, both victims and families from across the state know to turn to our law firm for representation in medical malpractice cases stemming from a wide range of causes, including the following:

  • Birth injuries
  • Surgical errors
  • Anesthesia errors
  • Misdiagnoses
  • Failures to diagnose
  • Wrongful death

Mr. Melvin began his legal career in 1992 after earning his law degree from University of North Carolina School of Law and his admission to the North Carolina State Bar. In addition to his approval to practice law in all of North Carolina's state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina has also issued its approval for him to practice in its courtrooms, ensuring he can represent clients at both state and federal levels.

If you or someone you love suffered unnecessarily due to medical negligence, look no further than The Melvin Law Firm for representation upon which you can depend. To learn more about how we can help you, you can schedule a free initial consultation at our law office in Greenville.

    Consulted Law firm 2024-2025
I personally would not recommend this law firm due to poor communication and having this consultation to determine if there is a case for one year, after we had submitted all medical records completely three different times to the law firm! It took a year for him to come back and said he couldn't make a case from the medical facts sent to him! There is only a 3-year statue of limitation in North Carolina on cases! We have lost one year of that due to waiting on him to determine if there was a valuable claim to pursue! You would think at least 2 months would been sufficient enough to make that determination instead of a year! I recommend people to search elsewhere, or at least get their information out to two different lawyers in a timely manner and expect a timely manner a response back! I personally recommend people to search other law firms that is my personal opinion!
