Unlike the same person that wrote the 2 bad reviews that found Mr. Parker the worst lawyer they have ever had (ever had tells you something right there) I found him to be a great help a few years ago. I fell on the horrible sidewalk that was at the Post Office here in Hayesville back in 2018. He took my case, we sued the landowners the PO sits on and we won! Over the years many people had fallen on that sidewalk but didn't want the headache of fighting the US Postal Service, can't blame them there. BUT the PO here in Hayesville does not own that land a family owns the land. It was/is their duty to keep things in good repair, which they did not. Anyway, Mr. Parker did a great job!

Has to be the worst representation because here it is my court dates a month away and I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone I requested my discovery packet months ago all day ever did was meet with me one time and offering me to take a plea with with no enthusiasm on helping me or fighting for me.

Nobody ever answers the phone and they have no voicemail so it's impossible to get in touch with Mr Parker. He did not even want to see any of the evidence I had for my case and did nothing at all on my case. This was the worst representation I've ever had.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
