Hired Law firm 2022BEWARE: Lawyer, Mike M. Thompson of Van Winkle Law Firm (a principle of the Asheville headquartered firm's satellite office in/at 422 S. main st., Hendersonville, NC 28792 represented me in the sale of the real estate closing that occurred 3-16-22, a residential lot I owned located in Hendersonville, NC 28739. He was hired specifically to send proceeds of the sale payable to (my legal name) as the property was held in a LLC that became defunct 13 years ago. I was the only managing member and sole beneficiary. I paid $55 to have the sale proceeds sent FedEx next day to my residence. Instead, his assistant, Morgan, mistakenly sent out the proceeds check made payable to the 13 year defunct LLC and none of my bank accounts would allow deposit...On 3-21-22, I contacted, Morgan, the assistant to lawyer Mike Thompson and she asked me to send her the following e-mail message: "Put stop payment payment on check and reissue in seller's legal name. Ten days later, as of 3-31-22, the proceeds check was never sent FedEX "next day delivery." Proceeds have never been delivered (of which i paid for). I called lawyer, Mike Thompson; he was rude, nasty and he hung up on me...BEWARE
