Attorney Information
Overview
Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, Jordan Gross brings both experience and passion to the firm. After deciding in high school that she wanted to be an attorney, Jordan went on to clerk for a large Atlanta-based law firm upon graduating from college. Confirming her interest in guiding clients through complex legal issues, she went on to earn her law degree and began her career focusing on custody and domestic violence cases. Representing clients in these situations provided Jordan with the experience and knowledge that she would ultimately bring to Stauff & Gross.
Jordan joined her colleague Matthew Stauff to form Stauff & Gross in 2014. Her mission was to take her experience and to focus it in a unique way, providing clients with the highest quality representation at a reasonable cost while helping them navigate the emotional side effects of contentious divorce, custody, and domestic violence cases. Since then, Jordan has helped clients navigate the legal system and heal financially and emotionally from the stress of their legal disputes.
Jordan lives in Raleigh with her husband and three young children. When she isn't working, she can be found spending time at the beach, baking, and cheering on the Carolina Tarheels.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2019-2021I almost don't know where to begin in sharing my experience with Jordan. To say she was amazing and spot on with all of her advice and strategies of how to navigate what seemed OVERWHELMING to me, is putting it mildly. She not only was 100% successful in all of my handlings, but she made me feel comforted and confident through all of it. She brought so much relief and safety to me and my children, that in itself, you can not put a price tag on. I had worked with many attorneys prior to her and I can say, she is THE BEST!! I never doubter her advice and it always panned out in the most positive way. I can't thank you enough Jordan! I highly recommend her to anyone dealing with Divorce and Custody issues!

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2021I can't possibly say enough. I was involved in a very drawn-out divorce and had worked with several attorneys along the way. Jordan was the only one who was truly compassionate to my situation and worked hard to get everything resolved. Divorce is never easy, but knowing that the person that represents you truly cares about the outcome made an enormous difference. Thank you so much Jordan (and your team).

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
