I strongly recommend David Teddy and his assistant Angela to anyone and everyone. If you need a law firm with lawyers thats going to fight for you they are the only choice to make. I consider them the best in cleveland county maybe the best in all of NC. They will fight for you. They will keep you updated on all your court dates and anything going on with your case. They will put the time and energy into you that no other law firm would. They care about what happens to you and your family! After your court case is handled in court they will still be there for all of your questions and legal needs. I had a probation violation for absconding in 2018 my case went to court in 2021 they were able to fight for me to allow me to stay at home on house arrest with my disabled son instead of serving my sentence out in prison. I am truelly greatful for them! I still have 1 pending felony that hasn't went to court yet but I am extremely confident that they will fight for me just like they did for my probation violation. David Teddy and his assistant treat you like family they are there anytime you need them. Rain shine sleet or snow they will show up for you. Hire them you won't regret it. They went above and beyond for me they will do the same thing for you! From a very satisfied client Kristina cavenaugh

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
