Attorney Information
Overview
At Combs Law Firm PLLC, Ruth I. Bradshaw is instrumental to the law office's goal to zealously advocate for clients. She is an experienced attorney who has built a strong reputation for herself in the North Carolina counties of Forsyth, Davidson, and Davie. To accomplish this, she worked hard since receiving her license in 2006 to hone her trial, negotiation, research, and communication skills.
Ms. Bradshaw has always had a professional interest in working with families. In fact, she completed her undergraduate degree in family and child development and graduated Magna cum laude from Virginia Tech. After several years, she decided to support families from a different angle as their legal advocate. So, she completed her J.D. at the North Carolina Central University School of Law where she graduated cum laude.
After becoming licensed in 2006 to practice in North Carolina, Ms. Bradshaw continued to add to her professional accomplishments by becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law, a Certified Parenting Coordinator, and a Certified Mediator in Family Financial Settlements. Even outside of the courtroom, Ms. Bradshaw is active within the legal field. She has spoken at several seminars and is a former member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association where she served as co-editor and editor of the Family Forum Newsletter in 2012 to 2014.
In her free time, Ms. Bradshaw enjoys spending time with her husband and sons.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
