Attorney Information

Overview

Attorney Christopher D. Byers has worked with our firm for 15 years, first as an assistant while he was in law school and then as an associate attorney since 2005. During his tenure at our firm, Chris has resolved over 3,000 cases and successfully recovered in excess of $30,000,000 for his clients in out of court settlements and at trial.

Chris comes from very modest means. He was born in a small town in southern Kentucky, and raised by a single parent. This background gives Chris true insight to the financial struggles that many of his clients often face after an accident due to medical bills and lost wages. Therefore, Chris is passionate in fighting for his clients in order to obtain the maximum recovery for their losses.

Chris was the first in his family to attend college, and he graduated from Berea College in 2000. Berea is a unique college as every student is on 100% academic scholarship based solely on financial need. In exchange, Berea requires its students participate in a work study program. Chris moved to the greater Cincinnati area in 2002 to attend law school at Northern Kentucky University, Chase College of Law. Chris chose Chase because it was the only law school in Kentucky that offered a part-time program. Chris worked 40 hours per week during the day while attending law school at night in order to fund his education. Chris knows the value of hard work and perseverance, and devotes these qualities to his clients.

Chris currently lives in Mt. Adams with his wife and their young daughter. Chris loves Cincinnati and enjoys attending Reds and Bengals games. However, he is a blue blood by heart, and is an avid Kentucky basketball fan. Chris believes in giving back to the community and supports charities including St. Jude Children Research Hospital, Goodwill, and the Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP). His family currently has two stray puppies that they adopted from SAAP, Barkley and Calvin Byers.

Chris loves his job as he truly enjoys helping people. He finds satisfaction in the fact that he can help an injured party recover for their loss. Chris promises not to charge any fee unless his client has been compensated, and he will always work hard to obtain the best possible outcome that they deserve.

First, I want to start off by saying thank you to Chris. He handled my accident case, and I am utterly satisfied. My first impression of Chris was intelligent, friendly, personable, caring, thorough, and competent. He was all of those things and much more. Chris made sure I understood everything about my case, he also made me aware of things I wasn't told by other attorneys I had consulted with. As you may know, when your in an accident, you're inundated with calls, letters etc from attorneys. I did research, trying to find the right one. Also one who was affordable, that would not take up a lot of my settlement. Luckily I found Chris. I was always kept informed, and up to date about my case. Chris was available, answered his phone when possible, returned calls quickly; and when he wasn't able to, his staff was there to accommodate. He and his staff went above and beyond the call of duty. They took care of all things, big, small, and everything in between. Like, making sure my credit score wasn't damaged, in this long process. This was very important to me, especially at that time. At first glance, I was taken aback by his demeanor, warmth, friendliness, kindness, and compassion. Unfortunately, these are not the qualities you always look for in an attorney. In all honesty, I questioned whether he would have the harshness, intestinal fortitude, or disposition for an ugly fight. To my surprise, he had more than enough. The good and the harsh qualities an attorney requires. He turned out to be more like Chris "Michael Myers" Byers, lol. I received my news on my birthday, no less. Needless to say, he was a big part of this birthday being the best ever (thanks again for the windfall Chris). I am more than pleased, I'm utterly pleased. Not only would I recommend him to my family and friends, (something I take very seriously); or anyone else for that matter, I already have. I just referred him to my daughter. He took the case, to our relief. Speaking of harshness, he is even suing my daughters husband for their accident lol, (her husband doesn't mind). My experience with Christopher D Byers and Greg Young Attorneys has been life changing. So what are you waiting for? Call them already lol.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
