Overview

Mr. Ahlers is a lifelong resident of the Cincinnati area, now residing in Mason. After attending St. Xavier High School, he attended Xavier University, where he graduated summa cum laude with an Honors Degree in 1979. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1982 and has been practicing law in Cincinnati since that time, first serving as a law clerk to both a U.S. District Judge and a U.S. Magistrate Judge, then working for the Legal Aid Society of Cincinnati for two years. After working for the next two years for the law firm of Wood & Lamping, Mr. Ahlers joined our firm in 1988 and became a name partner several years later.

Mr. Ahlers has been a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association his entire career. He is a past Chairman of the Cincinnati Bar Association's Social Security Committee. He has practiced almost exclusively since 1988 in the areas of Ohio workers’ compensation, social security disability, personal injury law, and short and long-term disability. Mr. Ahlers over the years won several workers' compensation appeals in the Ohio Supreme Court. He has also won many Social Security disability appeals in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. Ahlers and his wife have three children and 6 grandchildren. He is an avid fan of the Reds, Bengals, and FC Cincinnati and of UC football and UC and XU basketball. When not working, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.
